“By the Numbers” 2017 Ribfest August 25 to 27, 2017

  • Well over 10,000 people attended over 3 days and Sunday was the busiest day
  • 3 Ribbers, 5 food trucks, 2 large tents, 5 information tents, 1 stage , 80 tables, 550 chairs
  • 160 volunteers, filling 1,260 volunteer hours
  • 31 Sponsors – CBC Manitoba our Gold Sponsor
  • over $40,000 of “in-Kind” contributions
  • 18 Manitoba bands for over 14 hours of music during the three days
  • 113 bicyclists used the bike corral
  • 14 yards of cardboard and beverage containers diverted to recycling
  • 2,680 beer cans collected and recycled
  • 12 yards of food waste and compostable food containers diverted to the Forks compost site
  • 225 gallons of cooking grease collected for recycling
  • 14,127 people reached through Facebook
  • 500 ATM transactions for approximately $32,000

  • 5,000 people attended over 2.5 days and Saturday was most popular day
  • $10,000 in proceeds to support two Winnipeg youth programs – CANU and Newcomer Youth Educational Support Services Coalition
  • 0 millimetres of rainfall
  • 3 Ribbers, 5 other vendors, 1 large tent (40 x 120 feet) , 7 popup tents, 1 stage , 48 tables and 300 chairs
  • 175 volunteers, filling 566 volunteer hours
  • 28 Sponsors ($500 to $10,000), CBC Manitoba our Gold Sponsor
  • over $30,000 of “in-Kind” contributions
  • live bands for 9 hours
  • 6 months of planning by the Rotary Ribfest Steering Committee
  • Over 5,000 people reached on social media exposure –  Ribfest Website,  Ribfest Facebook – majority were female
  • 600 Ribfest signs, banners, posters and postcards printed
  • All = Number of people that had fun and a great time!
